strategy is presented for solving the drogue tracking problem using visual information from a camera on-board the receiver air- craft. The algorithm is robust to strong motions and allows to perform the tracking task at real-time frame rates. We have successfully tested the proposed strategy using a testbed for Autonomous Air-to-Air Refuelling procedures with actual flight hardware (probe and drogue). In the differ- ent tests conducted, we have found that that by using the proposed strategy, it is possible to detect and track the drogue at real-time frame rates (> 30 fps ?frames per second?), obtaining a robust position estimation even with strong motions and occlusions of the drogue | |
