Coupled-line sections loaded with a short-circuited stub have been used as dual-frequency quarter-wave impedance transformers working at two uncorrelated frequencies. Design rules are known only for the homogeneous dielectric case. A simple pre-optimization approach for the case of non-homogeneous dielectric is presented in this work. On the other hand, the customary short-circuited stub requires the use of technologically involved via-holes. The properties and potential advantages of the coupled-line section terminated in an open-circuited stub are herein analyzed. | |
