Networking testbeds are a key tool for designing and experimenting with the protocols, architectures and services of present and future networks, both in academic and industrial environments. Virtualization technologies are nowadays widely us ed for the creation of netw orking tes tbeds , s ignificantly reducing the investment in equipment. However, its use requires a high knowledge of the low level details of the virtualization platform used, diverting the testbed user from his real objective. This paper presents a tool named Virtual Networks over linuX (VNX), a general-purpose open-source scenario-based management tool designed to help building virtual networks testbeds automatically.
