The current outlook is oriented to preventive conservation of architectural heritage, reducing the risk of damage before it has occurred. Controlling the environment to create suitable conditions is often a very complex problem and it is necessary to monitor a great number of variables to get a whole study of the factors contributing to decay of materials, reducing costs in the long term. To tackle this problem it is very important to facilitate data acquisition and monitoring parameters to detect indoor changes or the presence of harmful compounds and problems like damp, or salts. All these goals are possible thanks to the use of wireless sensor networks, a non-invasive or minimally invasive technique. | |
