The present work shows the academic results obtained over three courses for the first year subject ?Chemistry of Materials?, of the Degree in Civil Engineering offered in School of Civil Engineering (UPM). The need to evaluate new skills according to the Bologna Declaration, together with the significant reduction in the teaching hours regarding the previous curriculum (from an annual to a semester subject), justifies the introduction of self-learning tools and new teaching methodologies for its development. The academic results obtained have been compared with those from the previous curriculum. From the particular features of this subject, with both lectures and lab, big efforts have been made in order to adapt contents in only one semester, taking into account the big size of the work groups, with more than eighty students per class. However, some improvements in efficiency rates and a decreased abandonment of this subject have been observed. "Bologna is being implemented without the conditions required by Bologna Declaration". | |
