Abstract
Nowadays, there is a big concern about security issues for convoys in hostile environments during war-periods or in peacetime surveillance missions. There are several developments for automotive applications in W-band and the goal is to improve their capabilities to perform as a surveillance radar. The objective is a lightweight, small and low-cost system to accomplish surveillance tasks in hostile environments on board small vehicles, with a range between 500 and 100 m. In this paper, the design and integration of a radar sensor at 77GHz and the implemented signal and data processing are presented.
