This paper focuses on the coexistence between public mobile networks, such as, GSM, UMTS, HSPA, HSUPA or LTE and GSM-R. GSM-R is a commercial system used in railway communications for voice and train control data. Nowadays, some GSM-R operators have noticed limitations caused by interferences to their networks from public mobile networks emissions. This happens because public mobile networks operate in the same frequency bands than GSM-R. Focus on this paper is assessing the problems caused by interferences on GSM-R through several SEAMCAT simulations that will analyze how commercial mobile networks can affect the quality of service in GSM-R networks. | |
