This article talks about experiences of machinery and auxiliary equipment, a subject from the Civil Engineering degree at Escuela Universitaria de Ingeniería Técnica de Obras Públicas, Universidad Politecnica de Madrid, throughout the development of continuous assessment of large groups. Different activities are involved, and a statistical analysis is done in order to study their effect over the students? grades and results, as well as the students¿ own experiences and opinions. During this study, Moodle is used as a learning platform, which allows the automation of certain activities. The results are positive, resulting in a continuous assessment which includes different assignments for the students to be completed every week, and not too demanding on the teacher. The results also show that students learn and that all activities contribute to this aim, even the ones that could be more uncertain such as group exams or activities that are passed just by handing them in. | |
