| In 2009 the National Museum of Natural History of Luxembourg (NMNH) started the installation of a permanent geodetic Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) network for ground deformation monitoring in the North Kivu basin. The primary objective was to contribute to the monitoring of Nyiragongo volcano. Practical constraints however allowed only the installations of GNSS stations South and East of Nyiragongo, D.R. Congo. | |
