Abstract

Transition slabs, which usually are arranged along the extrados of the stirrups of the road and rail works, whose mission is to minimize differences between said seat temper and adjacent embankments. This paper presents the implementation details of two structures that were effective in that the combination of "slab transition - transition wedge" would guarantee the proper system behavior and the conditions of quality, comfort and safety that society demand. The article is complete with the most relevant aspects of the projects, with the requirements of the materials used, the construction process and procedures for quality control and enforcement. | |
