Partido stream and nearby watercourses, Pinar stream and caño Marin, were part of the functioning of an old alluvial fan with a particular morphology and behaviour. The channelization of stream caused important imbalances in the water and sediments cycle, which have required morphological studies to delve into the characterization of the behaviour of the drainage net, especially during torrential floods. A tool that has been proven useful is the 2D hydraulic simulation fed directly with field data, what significantly improves the results. A reconstruction of the morphology of the alluvial fan before significant anthropogenic interventions can allow enquiring into the original hydraulic behaviour of the floods on the fan. In this context, advances are presented in the knowledge of the different morphological elements characteristic in the area and it is shown how its hydraulic parameters have been altered in different morphological configurations experienced by the stream. | |
