Abstract

| A novel planar radiating element that enhances signigicantly the impedance bandwidth of the microstrip radiators has been already demonstrated by the authors. This element is similar to a slot etched on the ground plane of a microstrip line, with the peculiarity of having superimposed onto it its complementary stub. This paper reviews the main characteristics of the complementary strip-slot element and describes its use for building a series array with scanning capabilities. | |
