This study evaluate the evolution of the recrystallization of technically pure tungsten foil (W) and potassium doped tungsten foil (WVM) on annealed tungsten foils in the temperature range from 800 to 2400 ºC. We performed three-point bending (TPB) tests at room temperature and measured the Vickers microhardness on the samples treated at the different temperatures to check the influence of the annealing temperature on both materials. Besides a study of the evolution of the microstructure accomplish with scanning electron microscopy (SEM) in combination with electron backscatter diffraction detector (EBSD) analysis to determine grain size and texture at the different heat treatment temperatures for both materials. The results show that the recrystallization temperature is improved from 1100 ºC (pure W foil) to about 1400 ºC (WVM foil) combined with an increase of room-temperature ductility. These results are of highest technical importance with respect to W laminate pipes for a helium-cooled divertor. | |
