| This document describes the exploration experiments conducted by UPM, and reviewed by UH, for EE1 and EE2 using the Bee ?sequence? (of one single frame), and reports the results obtained in terms of PSNR for the estimated depth maps and the corresponding synthesized views. We first used the initial parameter configuration provided by NICT at the 108th MPEG meeting, and then focused on the effect in the synthetic view of using 8-bit vs. 16-bit precision for different baseline distances. In addition, we provide a detailed analysis of the segmentation options available in the FTV reference software DERS6, and of their respective gains in terms of the PSNR of the synthesized views generated by the FTV reference software VSRS4. | |
