This document describes the exploration experiments conducted by UPM and ULB for EE1 and EE2 with the Bee (synthetic) video ?sequence?, which in fact consists of a single frame/image. Regarding EE1, we analyzed the effects on the estimated depth maps of certain DERS6 parameters, and more importantly of the baseline distance. In order to compare the different alternatives, we obtained the synthesized views with VSRS4 and computed their PSNR with respect to the original ones. As result, we provide the set of depth maps that led to the best synthesis results. As for EE2, we used the former estimated depth maps to assess the impact of the number of reference views on the quality of the synthesized view range, in terms of the PSNR with respect to the original views. We have followed the scheme outlined in the description of EE2 and used a set of 3, 5, 9, 17 and 33 reference views to generate the intermediate ones.
