The third talk will be given by Concha Bielza: The talk will show how Bayesian networks can address important neuroscience problems. These problems include: (a) neuroanatomy issues, like modeling and simulation of dendritic trees and classifying neuron types based on morphological features; (b) neurodegenerative diseases, like predicting healthrelated quality of life in Parkinson?s disease and searching for genetic biomarkers in Alzheimer?s disease. The bnclassify R package for Bayesian classifiers developed in our group will be also mentioned. It implements multiple state-ofthe art algorithms for learning augmented naive Bayes models, a particular type of Bayesian network classifiers, from discrete data. | |
