ITERDB is the central archive system which contains all data coming from convention, interlock and safety. It has two parts ? one located in POZ (Plant Operation Zone) to collect experimental data and another one located in XPOZ (outside Plant Operation Zone) to allow offline analysis execution and storage. In this paper, we will focus on ITERDB-POZ part, the other part being still under design. ITER consists of roughly 200 plant system I&Cs many of which will stream data over DAN (Data Archiving Network) at various rates from a few hundreds kB/sec to 50GB/sec). The first version of DAN API library and a mini-ITERDB has been created and operated. Beginning 2015, DAN support will be fully integrated in the CODAC Core System (CCS). In this paper, we will give details about the design and implementation of DAN in CCS. We also started to work on improving the performance of the current EPICS archiver ? another source of data archiving for ITERDB. Currently it is based on a relational database and it is limited to 20kSamples/sec. We are developing a new plugin so that data retrieval of EPICS and DAN data is smoother. The data access API is also being implemented to allow accessing transparently data from ITERDB. Metadata associated with archived data has also been modelled and will be extended with future versions of CCS | |
