Information provided by manufacturers of different products is the basis for students to solve problems. The objectives are: to facilitate the acquisition of skills, both specific (essentially the knowledge of physical and chemical concepts) and transversal (problem solving, data analysis, teamwork...); to promote motivation of students and teachers; to encourage critical thinking; to develop educational tools contextualized in STSE (Science-Technology-Society-Environment), STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and flipped learning environments; and to collaborate on the preparation of scientific literate citizens. The cases discussed are: (a) relationship between fuel consumption and CO 2 emissions by cars, (b) thermochemistry of domestic condensing boilers, (c) composition of toothpastes, and (d) composition of mineral waters. | |
