Ultra intense soft x-ray lasers have many applications in different fields such as femto-biology (diffraction, single shot holography), plasma and astrophysics (opacity, warm dense matter), atomic physics, etc... These applications require short pulses (fs), strong energy (mJ), high spatial coherence and a good wavefront. Seeded soft x-ray lasers have the potentiality to produce a beam with the required characteristics. Several parameters (plasma size, inhomogeneities of surface or illumination...) can influence the properties of the output x-ray beam. This influence has been studied in this work using the 2D hydrocode ARWEN, coupled with the 3D ray-tracing SHADOX via a gain calculation subroutine | |
