Yesa dam is a concrete gravity structure that closes the Aragón River (North of Spain). It has a height of some seventy meters. Dam foundation rock consists of a series of marls and interbedded marls and sandstones (Yesa flysch). Both valley slopes, at the dam place, are somewhat weat and have a slow tendency to move downwards. As a consequence, they compress the dam. | |
