Task 1. Architecture v1 design Design of the first version of the architecture to be deployed in AWS EC2 infrastructure. It has a single authentication node (Nuve) and a single controller node (Erizo Controller). It allows adding a number of media nodes (Erizo Agents) to the resource pool. It will be the starting point to identify the breaking points using the designed testing tools and to design a next version of the architecture (in next phases of the project). - Effort: 30 hours - Result: Architecture description Task 2. Deployment and configuration Deploy and configure of the designed architecture in AWS EC2 infrastructure. - Effort: 90 hours - Result: EC2 virtual machines with the deployment of the defined components in Task 1. Task 3. Agent AMI configuration Configure and provide an AWS EC2 AMI to automatically deploy Licode media nodes (Erizo Agents) added to the resource pool. - Effort: 60 hours - Result: EC2 AMI ready to deploy Erizo Agents pre-configured to join the resource pool deployed in Task 2. Task 4. Pre-boot tools Implementation of the script that allows to manually start new AWS EC2 instances of the Agent AMI configured to be added to the resource pool. - Effort: 30 hours - Result: Script to pre-boot the AMIs provided in Task 3. Task 5. Booting policies design and configuration Design and configure the policies that, taking into account the status of the system, are able to auto-boot and configure new Agents. - Effort: 60 hours - Result: Configuration files to include in the deployment. Task 6. Monitoring tools Design and provide tools to monitor the status of the deployed components. This includes alerts in the Agents status. Deploy and configure an Licode Ackuaria instance to monitor rooms and connections in real time. - Effort: 60 hours - Result: Monitoring tools deployed and configured in EC2 virtual machines. Task 7. Test cases Define test cases to simulate load and validate capacity. Configure AWS EC2 AMIs to connect fake web clients to the system to perform the test cases. - Effort: 45 hours - Result: Test suites, EC2 AMIs to start new fake clients. Task 8. Break point analysis Based on architecture v1 and according to the defined test cases, the break points will be identified in order to extract the requirements for the next version of the architecture. - Effort: 90 hours - Result: Braking points analysis document. Test cases results. Task 9. Fall-back mode Implement a fall-back mode to support lower-bandwidth connections and support its integration in the web application. - Effort: 30 hours - Result: Code implementation to include in the educational platform web application the fallback mode. Needed modifications in Licode main branch to support this feature (will be reverted to the open source project). Task 10. Guides and documentation Document all the provided items and provide guides with all the needed procedures related with the maintenance. - Effort: 30 hours - Result: Guides and documents.
