In this work we demonstrate that the presence of the necrotrophic fungus Botrytis cinerea (B.c) as the presence of chitin, a well known elicitor of plant defence forming part of fungal spores, induce a fast EIF2? phosphorylation and protein translation inhibition, showing that the process is dependent on GCN2 activity. Additionally, GCN2 insertion mutants show an impaired capacity to defence against B.c. | |
