A synthesis procedure for E-plane multiport branch-guide couplers is presented. It is based on mirroring conventional coupling structures. These multiport couplers are useful in power combining applications as long as they divide the input power equally among their outputs. Moreover, the phases of the output signals have been adjusted to ensure that the power combination is done correctly. The design of two six-port couplers and a ten-port coupler in WR-62 waveguide is shown. The operating band is from 14 GHz to 16 GHz. Their return losses are better than 28 dB and their magnitude imbalance is lower than 0.2 dB. | |
