The microorganisms in the air are the cause of many allergies and diseases as the flu or pneumonia. The AIRBIOTA-CM Program will analyze the changes in microbial airborne communities in Madrid at different seasons, places and heights. The microbial identification will be performed by novel molecular biology techniques as Next- Generation DNA Sequencing. New systems for airborne monitoring will be developed. We will design UAVs adapted for our sampling, extending their application in environmental studies and increasing the possibilities of sampling. Finally, mathematical models obtained from the collected data will predict spatial distribution and changes in aerial microorganisms in the urban atmosphere of Community of Madrid. | |
