The waste-to-energy system proposed (showed in the attached Simplified Process Flow Diagram) employs waste coal-based fuel feedstock, with more than 80% of waste coal contribution, in a combustion process of circulating fluidised bed technology . The suitable integration of a Wet Sulphuric Acid Condenser, after the flue gas has passed through a Selective Catalytic Reduction-Oxidation process units upwards, removes over 99% of sulphur content in the waste coal-based fuel recovered in the production of H2SO4[3]. Downwards, the suitable integration of a Regenerative Chemical Absorption Carbon Capture Unit brings a potential reduction of up to 60% of CO2 emissions . Additionally, the system configuration achieves and assures emission limit values of critical pollutants comply with the most recent and strictest regulation . | |
