In photovoltaic irrigation systems, the minimum DC bus voltage of the frequency converter (FC) is imposed by the voltage required at the motor-pump input. Thus, whenever this voltage is higher than that of the maximum power point of the PV generator, part of the energy that the PV can produce is wasted. The objective of this work is to study these losses for 20, 21 and 22 modules in series (for PV modules with 60 cells in series). It can be conclude that if there are no voltage drop between the FC and the motor-pump the losses are depreciable. However, the increase in these losses leads to an increase in the percentage of PV energy losses. In addition, the higher the cell temperature, the higher these losses. | |
