The acquisition of most oral skills requires high order thinking processes. To develop these skills, teachers from the 21st century need to use not only technological tools, but also activities aimed at the development of higher-order cognitive skills with a significant impact on the students? outcomes. Video production comprises the use of technological tools and contributes to developing higher-order cognitive skills by giving ?the language learner a choice not only about what to say, but also how to say it and how to present a point of view? (Dal, 2010, p.5). These premises made, it is our intention to test our 21st century students? view of the effectiveness of video production and self and peer evaluation for developing their oracy and digital oracy skills. Their view of video presentations versus in-class presentations will be also tested. | |
