The Virtual Reality group works in the field of Visual Computing since 2005. It focuses on two main areas: i) virtual, augmented and mixed reality and, ii) information visualization and visual analytics. One of the most important research questions under study at the VR Group is how to exploit syn-ergies between novel Visual Computing technologies (e.g. Mixed Reality and Visual Analytics) and how to enhance mediated applications with state-of-the-art immersive and interactive technolo-gies (e.g. sensorially-enhanced media). The ultimate goal is to improve the capability of these solu-tions to elicit an enhanced cognitive and emotional response of the media user. In this project, the Virtual Reality group at CeDInt will work in close collaboration with the Mining Technology group.
