Present paper is based on the generation of simulation models of different lengths for the study of the dynamic interaction between pantograph and OCR. This project is meant to analyse the capability of a CAE software, used mainly as a teaching tool, to make highly complex dynamic studies which usually require the use of specific software. Given the features of the software and the complexity of the problem, a key factor of this work has been the definition of the optimal technique to model the different elements that an OCR system contains. Regarding the pantograph, a lumped mass model has been used. The finite element model of the OCR structure has been based on one-dimensional elements for the contact rail and finite vertical stiffness elements for the supports. After analysing the acquired results, it can be concluded that this procedure is feasible, accurate and fast when a reduced model is simulated. Nevertheless, when working with longer models, there are several limitations in comparison with the use of specific simulation software. | |
