| Empathy to view patients as persons first and then as patients, along with creative mindsets to drive technological innovation, can be powerful tools for looking beyond the status quo and building the healthcare systems beyond 2020. In this talk we will review creative techniques, such as design thinking which, when applied to healthcare, can lead to a human focus and an openness to generate and test lots of ideas to find more innovative, far-reaching solutions to current challenges and help paint clear pictures of the near future in healthcare. We will then outline opportunities for innovation in healthcare, discuss the need of digital transformation in this sector and address the complexities behind delivering high-quality patient treatment outcomes without leaving out economic considerations. | |
