Throughout the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, Spain has remained backward as regards the modern scientific policy initiatives developed in Europe and the United States. One of the challenges has been to introduce the ethical perspective in studies of a technological nature within a framework within which a culture of hubris evolved in the scientific and technological domain. In this context, this chapter is structured in two parts. The first develops the theoretical framework, i.e., scientific policy in Europe, with special focus on Spain. Based on the innovations developed by the authors at the School of Mining and Energy, Technical University of Madrid, the second part describes the experimental exercise of an integrative learning process carried out by introducing ethics and transversal skills in Engineering Studies. | |
