| In this work the study of a particular population of rabbits originating in Ibiza, the Ibicenco rabbit or conill pagès D'Eivissa, recognized as an indigenous racial group and extended today by other territories, both in the Balearic Islands and in some areas of the peninsula. On the one hand, its genetic characterization has been carried out, studying demographic characters, others related to the gene?s origin, imbreeding, effective population size and their genetic structure. On the other hand, the productive and bromatological characterization of Ibicenco rabbit meat has been carried out, comparing it with hybrid rabbits that are used commercially for meat production. | |
