This article summarizes the pilot experience developed in the subjects Programming I and Programming II in the first year in the Telecommunications Engineering School ¿ Technical University of Madrid (EUITT-UPM). This initiative is part of an integral plan to adapt the current studies to fit the requisites of the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS). The experience has lasted for two years now. It includes the use of b-learning methodologies (b-learning stands for blended-learning, that is, the use of both distance and learning in the classroom) and collaborative learning techniques to teach all the subjects of the so called ¿pilot groups¿. In this experience, the e-learning tool Moddle is used. As a result of the initiative, an improvement of the academic results is observed. Moreover, the students are more active, helping to build their own learning and developing abilities for group work. | |
