Noise measurements were taken in the cabs of excavators and mechanical shovels employed in opencast mining in the Madrid Region, showing variability over the time. On seeing the results obtained from the measurements, it was proposed that there is a need to establish the minimum amount of time required to provide representative results for a particular type of worker, in order to evaluate their noise exposure at work, taking measurements for less than eight hours and using an algorithm to analyze the noise level stability. In this paper the need to validate this algorithm is analyzed aiming to reduce the measurement time based on the type of activity that the worker carries out. | |
