The International Airport of Santiago has begun an important modernization and expansion process, added to the quick growth in the city of Santiago that makes more people to live in the proximities of the airport being exposed at high noise levels. The lack of regulations makes necessary to study the noise impacts in residential sectors. The present work gives an evaluation of the noise levels that the air operations produce near in population sectors in the airport, demonstrating that the lack regulation or operational restrictions produce greater levels of noise in the community. The noise levels measurements show that for the same airplane model there are differences in the take off procedures up to Lmax,S = 20 dB(A) above housing sectors. Comparing noise levels of all air operations it was possible establish the noisiest airships correspond to Boeing 737-200, Airbus 320 and Boeing 767-200, which register until Lmax,S = 80 dB(A) for housing sectors, while for the same airplane model there are differences in the maximum levels of up to 18 dB(A) due fundamentally to the changes in the flight heights. This show that the lack of regulations in the take off procedures makes exist the greater noise levels in residence sectors | |
