Descripción
Within the historical development of the Colonial America we can find the native communities of the Andes mountains, specifically the Aimara-Quechua communities. With the passage of the years its more well-known characteristic, is than they are possessors of a strongly taken root identity in the place, and with singularities in their ancestral habitat. Many of these characteristics have the origin in the conjunction of two different cultures (Andean and Spanish cultures). One of the architectonic icons that identify this region corresponds to the churches of colonial style, built on the basis of Spanish architectonic models of the time of the Spanish conquest of America, but with materials and adaptations of the Andean reality. These churches are unique in the world and therefore worthy to be proposed, like it were made some years ago, to be World Heritage, according to United Nations Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage (Paris-1972). Any person who has visited that type of Churches of the Altiplano Andino can state that the acoustic perception in the interior when sacred music with Andean musical instruments is played is very different from the acoustic perception of similar enclosures in the western culture. The materials used for the construction of the churches besides the architectonic design of the Spanish architecture, cause that they have a unique acoustic personality. This research allowed to measure, to simulate and to gauge the acoustic characteristics inside one of these churches, concretely the church of the Mamiña town. In this church it was made an experimental study of his acoustic characteristics, obtaining interesting conclusions about its acoustic, besides important details of its direct relation with the Spanish architecture, Andean materials, technical constructive characteristics, etc.
