Nowadays, the integration and incorporation of eHealth into everyday life of healthcare professionals is becoming a reality in developing and developed countries [1]. Improvement of access to medical knowledge or reductions of unnecessary patients¿ transfer to regional hospitals are only some examples of eHealth applications relevant to developing regions. Conscious of this wide range of possibilities, different organizations from Latin American (LAM) countries are very interested in developing eHealth projects [2]. Lack of funding, scarceness of resources and knowledge, difficulties in finding the necessary contacts or support are some of the challenges these organizations usually have to face. Some of these difficulties can be solved by a strong international cooperation. This paper presents the results of @Health, a project funded by the European Commission aimed at fostering international cooperation on eHealth by stimulating joint research actions and exchange of knowledge with Latin America. | |
