According to WHO (World Health Organisation), ¿obesity has reached epidemic proportions globally, with more than 1 billion adults overweight and is a major contributor to the global burden of diseases¿. Hence, including prevention strategies able to motivate and empower citizens to be responsible for their own health in public health planning remains a crucial topic. Home telehealth systems providing quality and personalized information can be regarded as a fit-for-purpose solution to involve users in taking control of their lifestyle and effectively managing their own healthcare. This paper presents the development of a training system that provides personalized information focused in obesity issues in order to incorporate healthy lifestyles to the users¿ daily activities. To ensure the success and the acceptance of the system, the evaluation and validation processes have been considered a key step in the development and implementation activities. | |
