| Pressure distributions were obtained testing wheat in an installation of three test silos with different eccentric hoppers (0%, 50% and 100%). The results of the tests were compared with loads prescribed by the Eurocode. Pressure oscillations and asymmetries in the load distributions as modelled by patch-loads distributed along the silo wall during discharge were observed. The results obtained contribute to understand the behaviour of stored materials in silos with eccentric hoppers. They also contribute to provide criteria for the design of this type of structures. | |
