Abstract
This work deals with self-similar measures associated to Iterated Function Systems of similarities. Two methods are given to approximate the Hessenberg matrix associated to such a self-similar measure. One of these methods is based on the fixed point theorem for moment matrices of this kind of measures [2] and Cholesky factorization. The second one generalizes Mantica¿s spectral techniques to calculate the Jacobi matrix associated to self-similar measures [1]. We also give some examples to illustrate and compare both method.
