A methodology is proposed for the estimation of the mechanical properties of ancient timber structures of the species of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) and Laricio pine (Pinus nigra Arn. Ssp. salzmannii) of Spanish origin; the velocity of propagation of ultrasound waves using Sylvatest Duo equipment; and density estimation by means of probing with a Pilodyn 6J Forest, and local resistance with Screw Withdrawal Resistance Meter¿ (SWRM). Finally, this methodology is used to estimate the mechanical properties of a group of 25 Scots pine pieces from an old building, and they are compared with results obtained by mechanical testing. | |
