One of the most relevant problems in construction works are the different pathologies present in plaster interior renderings, such as fissures, cracks and spallings of different layers. Presently, as there are many different construction gypsums mortars with additives and aggregates, pathologies occur because of the wrong or inadequate gypsum mortar application on site. Mainly, pathologies appear due to problems related with the adherence of the gypsum to the vertical or horizontal faces. Few studies or publications have been found in relation to this pathology type, and almost none refer to a detailed analysis considering the bonding agent with the different supports on which it is applied. Thus, this is an interesting research field in the construction sector to work in. This paper analyzes the problem of adherence stated by gypsum mortars presently in the market (traditional ones and additivated ones) on various supports used in building construction. Considering the possible variables intervening in the process, adherence changes for the different gypsums tested --one of them, traditional gypsum manually applied, and the other one, an additivated gypsum jet grouted-- on the most common construction supports with different superficial textures and different absorptions. Tests have been carried out to characterize the bonding property of the different common construction supports such as: concrete, ceramic supports, polystyrene hollow arch bricks, etc. At the same time, these results are analyzed in connection with the mechanical strengths obtained, superficial hardness, etc., so as to study the fissures, cracks and pathologies observed. | |
