"This paper focuses on the design of a software receiver for the E1B and E1C Binary Offset Carrier signals of the Galileo testbed satellites, Giove-A and Giove-B. The receiver designed in Matlab must be able to acquire, track and demodulate both signals. Different techniques have been tried in the tracking and acquisition modules and an offline signal generator able to generate the E1 signal from both satellites has been implemented for performance testing of the system. The results show that these signals can be successfully acquired with a narrowband front-end commonly used for GNSS systems utilizing conventional algorithms and it is proven that the data channel can be tracked with the implemented algorithms. Finally a simulator with a graphical user interface named GAEDUNAV (Galileo Educational Navigation Tool) has been implemented to integrate and show in a friendly and simple way the software receiver developed." | |
