The future of Digital Terrestrial Television is related to MIMO Systems. In the draft of the new standard of the second version of DVB-T, the DVB-T2 includes multiple antennas at the transmitter side. One further step is the fact of including multiple antennas not only in the transmitter, but also in the receiver. Regarding this, a novel MIMO prototype has been designed for DVB-T2. In this paper, the description of the design and implementation of the prototype is detailed. The MIMO prototype is divided into three main parts: signal processing, RF and antennas. The signal processing is based on Software-Radio platforms to realize the synchronization and FFT of the OFDM signals. Finally, the integration of all the system and preliminary measurements are presented. | |
