Population is aging during the last decades and this trend is expected to continue over the next years [1] [2]. Recent studies show the benefits of continuing living at home [1]. Most of the elderly prefer to live independently, thus increasing the demand for quality services at home. The development of new Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) helps to create the appropriate and necessary environments so Independent Living can be achieved [3]. The interaction with these environments should be easy without requiring a specific training. We present in this paper a natural language based interface that uses a wide range of syntactic structures and a limited vocabulary to interact with the different devices in the home. | |
