In this paper, the attention is focused on diagnostic techniques and the possibility to use them for new applications in antenna measurements. With these kinds of techniques it is obtained the extremely near field from the information in near field or far field. So that, classical applications of the diagnostic techniques are errors detection, like phase errors in arrays or conformal errors in reflectors, therefore, they constitute an important antenna design tool. But also and it has been said, they can be used for other applications whose aim is improve the measurements in anechoic chambers. Here, three of them are presented, where the diagnostic techniques play an important role. These three new applications are reflection cancelling, detection of unwanted radiation points and reduction of the truncation error in planar or cylindrical near-field. | |
