P systems, or membrane computing, are a type of system based on biological membranes. Transition P systems perform computation through transition between two consecutive configurations. One transition is obtained by applying the evolutionary rules, which are in each region of the system in a nondeterministic maximally parallel manner. This article is part of an investigation whose objective is to implement a hardware system that evolves as it does a transition P system. To achieve this objective, a division of this generic system has been carried out in several stages. The fi rst stage was to determine the active rules in a determined confi guration for the membrane. The second stage was developed by obtaining the part of the system that is in charge of the application of the active rules. In fact, the circuit obtained in this article counts the number of times that the active rules are applied. In the fi rst place, the initial specifi cations are defi ned in order to outline the synthesis of the circuit of active rule applications. Later, the design and synthesis of the circuit will be shown, as well as the operational tests required to present the experimental results obtained. | |
