The last two decades has seen a large expansion in the number of Integrated Coastal (zone) Management programs in developed countries. Spain¿s coastal programs have sort to moderate the conflict between many competing uses and there is a reported 50% of regions in the country with ICZM in progress. The ICZM model has also been popular in Australia, well Known for governance achieving environmental outcomes. The largest impacts on coasts an oceans in Australia remain non-point source pollution and development pressures. Spain¿s main coastal issues have been the inmense level of coastal development, changes in hydrology and increase in urbanisation. | |
