The aim of this work is to evaluate the GHG emissions of fruit production in Spain and eight different fruits (apples, mandarin, melon, orange, peach, pear, strawberry and watermelons) were selected due to their relative importance in production and export. The carbon footprint of the studied fruits is almost negligible compared against the daily value of the Spanish economy, so fruit may be considered as a health and climate smart food. | |
