The use of wind turbines to generate electricity has become a major problem in meteorological radars. Due to the low Doppler frequency resolution that these radars show and the few number of pulses for coherent processing in operational scans, the most representative wind turbine radar signature characteristics can¿t be observed in operational exploration modes by using the classical Fourier spectral estimation. In this paper, we propose super-resolution techniques to improve Fourier¿s Doppler resolution and provide experimental results. In particular, we utilize auto-regressive coefficients together with the modified covariance method to estimate the Doppler power spectrum. The experimental results show an enhanced Doppler resolution. | |
